Schools should also install low flow faucet aerators they are extremely inexpensive and can cut water usage quite a bit.

thank you for your comments. Is there a way to place the leaves on a screen so the compopost will fall through the bottom and be easy to gather. Maybe raise the screened composter off the ground a foot.

Thomas and I talked more about having an energy contest where people could sign up at Bridge Day. They would be required to keep their energy bills for a set amount of time (3 or 6 months) starting the month prior (Sept – to ensure no one jacks up there usage in order to cheat). Whatever family has lowered their energy usage the most (percentage wise) will win a prize. Maybe we can get Lowes or another local company to donate an energy star dishwasher or other appliance.

Let’s try and connect the composting bin idea with the new community gardens organized by the Master Gardener’s in Fayetteville. It’d be great to see all that trash turned into a useful product and kept in Fayetteville. Next time I see a Master Gardener I’ll bring it up and to the other two readers here, please do the same or tell them to contact me!

Nice post. You mentioned a few brewers in your article, but others to check out that are certified organic include Bison Brewing Company, Peak Organic, Wolaver’s (Otter Creek Brewery), and many others.

Love the water cooler and cups idea instead of plastic water bottles. Would the CVB buy the coolers and cups? Wouldn’t it be great if it was cheaper to buy the equivalent amont of water and cups and coolers to the plastic bottles. hil

Not to mention most remanufactured toner actually gives you about 20% more pages per cartridge. Ink jets that are remanufactured can have as much as twice the ink as a brand new cartridge. The best part is buying remanufactured can actually save you from 30% to 70% off of buying brand new.

You may be able to get the number of commercial establishments and total commercial floor space data from the Fayette County Tax Assessor. His name is Harvey “Eddie” Young and can be reached at 304.574.4246. Mr. Young creates the assessments but it is the county sheriff who mails the bills and collects the payments.
