GREAT volunteers with the assistance of town and county staff have established a community-wide greenhouse gas emissions inventory for the 25840 zipcode (Fayetteville, WV). Data was entered into ICLEI’s Clear Air Climate Protection software. We have established 2007 as our baseline year. Data was acquired for residential, commercial, and local government in the following sectors:
- Basic Information (population, # of households, commercial employees, # of commercial establishments, commercial floorspace)
- Energy (electricity, natural gas, propane, home heating oil)
- Transportation (vehicle miles traveled, fuel consumption, vehicle fuel efficiency)
- Waste (waste production, recycling)
- Water (pumping and treatment)
- Local Government (energy, transportation, waste)
Yay and heaps of thanks for Debbie Barry (who works for the county) and to Kathy Phillips and Mike (who work for the town) for helping us finish getting the info needed from the County and the Town for ICLEI. Kudos ladies, you’ve worked very hard and we appreciate it!

You may be able to get the number of commercial establishments and total commercial floor space data from the Fayette County Tax Assessor. His name is Harvey “Eddie” Young and can be reached at 304.574.4246. Mr. Young creates the assessments but it is the county sheriff who mails the bills and collects the payments.
